We're looking for a Health and Safety Officer for a manufacturing site based in St. Helens.

Your role will be to coordinate, support, and advise the Business on all aspects with regard to Health and Safety. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the company are adhered to. Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

About the role

  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, fire and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  • Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments, and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work, and procedures
  • Establish a full program of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks
  • Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programs and health and safety services.

Skills and competencies:

  • At least 5 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
  • NEBOSH (Certificate) qualified with the commitment to work towards a H&S diploma accreditation
  • IOSH Managing safely trained
  • COSHH Trained
  • Experience formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures

This is full-time and permanent, on-site.

Hours: 08.30 – 16.45 Mon – Fri 08.30 – 15.30 Fri, 30 min unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week).

Salary: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Essential Criteria: 

  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a similar role, working on mechanical builds (switchgear) wiring.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical drawings working in 2D and 3D build and CAD drawings and single-line drawings.
  • Experience working on control panels.
  • Experience working on switchgear panels.
  • Safe working knowledge of hand and power tools and appropriate PPE
  • Must hold a driving licence.
  • A good understanding of H & S.
  • Experience working with copper busbar for install of ACBs would be advantageous but not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To build flat pack panels using 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Installation of busbar / earth bars.
  • Fitting out doors for electrical equipment.
  • Control wiring from schematic diagrams and single-line drawings.
  • Ability to work alone and be able to use your own initiative as well as work as part of a team and communicate effectively with co-workers.

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Fork lift truck licence would be advantageous but not essential.

You'll be working for a business that has partnered with two of the world’s leading specialists in electrostatic powder coating, GEMA and RDM, and had created one of the most advanced in-house powder paint operations in the UK. They've invested in this technology and after opening their new paint plant, they are looking for Paint Plant Operatives to join the team.

Paint Plant Operatives and Powder Coating Operatives are key roles for the organisation. Ensuring they produce high-quality powder-coated components prior to their next stage in the manufacturing process. Ensuring the delivery of exceptional products to exact customer specifications and standards.

You'll be working in a plant that is over 950 sqm and houses two advanced powder coating processes including two ovens and on- and off-line spray booths. Line one comprises a fully automated online solution, with an advanced four stage pre-treatment wash, and encompasses the latest fast colour change powder application technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Correct loading, unloading and inspection of items on and off the paint line.
  • Correct handling and storage of materials.
  • Preparation and masking of parts to be painted.
  • Correct hanging of items to be painted, using hooks and jigs to maximize efficiency.
  • Masking items to drawings and specifications before they enter the painting process.
  • Safely moving parts in and out of the department.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Adherence to all Health and Safety procedures.

Key skills and competencies:

You must be a team player with a positive attitude and self-motivated individual who produces high quality work, in addition to being able to demonstrate the following:

  • Flexibility.
  • Ability to interpret information on job ticket and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Attention to detail.

You will work a rotating weekly shift pattern of 6am until 2pm/2pm until 10pm, Monday to Thursday and 6am until 12pm/12pm until 6pm on a Friday including a paid 30-minute meal break.

With shift allowance, the rate of pay for this role is £12.65 per hour. This role is permanent.

Based in the Nottingham area this is a varied role and will include field service work and technical support.

Field Service Duties

  • Installation of OM products
  • Issue customer-layouts

  • Systems and components repairs
  • Service project preparation and management
  • Technical training preparation

Technical Support

  • Customer phone support
  • Internal customer support related to technical issues
  • Obligation to inform the customer concerning security issues in writing in the service reports (porosity hoses, gas leak detector function etc.)

Required qualifications, skills and expertise

  • HNC/HND Qualification in Electro/Mechanical Engineering

Working all across North Wales 

We are looking for a Plasterer with multi- trade experience for the eco sector.

Work will involve general plastering, making core holes for fans, trickle vents, window sills, skirting boards architraves, basic wiring of plugs to be signed off by an electrician and extending pipe work for sinks etc.

This is long term, ongoing work and work will be throughout wales.

We're looking for multiple tradesmen for this contract. Ideally you'll have at least 1 years' experience of plastering and multi-trade work.

You'll be working 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday and overtime. Rate of pay is £30-35 a square metre.

Licence/Certification:

  • CSCS (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

You must be willing to travel to across the North Wales area.
