Maintenance Co-ordinator & Improvement Engineer (Stockport)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5hrs/week

Job Overview:
Responsible for all site maintenance and for ensuring the smooth running of the production facility by responding quickly to requests for support to minimise downtime.

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:
• Safe working in accordance with regulations and safe practice.
• Support with risk assessment.
• Preventative maintenance of plant and machinery.
• General site maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
• Coordinating process and equipment improvement and process improvement.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Permitting and management of contractors including documentation.
• Small scale machining and tooling manufacture.
• Manage and organise waste collections and documentation.
• Purchasing of supplies and consumables.
• Management and housekeeping for workshop, equipment and spares storage.
• 5s activity, as required.
• Champion continuous improvement within the business and recommend improvements which improve efficiency, prolong life of machinery and tools and reduce wastage.

Education
• Appropriate apprenticeship or trainee programme (maintenance/mech/elec).
• Mechanical and/or engineering qualification (beneficial).
• Electrical competency qualification.
• PC literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Professional experience
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Several years experience of undertaking and coordinating site, plant and equipment maintenance (mech/elec).
• Mechanically and electronically competent.
• Experience of preventative maintenance.
• Experience of permitting and contractor management.
• Experience of working in accordance with H&S and EMS systems and requirements, including risk assessments.
• Systematic and logical approach to working, ability to organise and prioritise, good problem solving skills.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• CAD would be useful.
• Initiative and relatively self-managing.

As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor/Manager, you will have a key role in project implementation and delivery processes. You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers and industry professionals to ensure the safe completion of projects. This position will be based full-time onsite at one of our client's projects in Hertfordshire.

Your Responsibilities will include:

Providing general support and assistance to the Health and Safety Manager.
Ensuring site personnel adhere to site safety and company requirements.
Conducting site inspections/audits and reporting findings to the project EHS Manager.
Identifying training needs and reporting requirements to the project EHS Manager.
Conducting Health and Safety Inductions and weekly toolbox talks.
Organising and leading safety meetings.
Reviewing subcontractors' method statements/risk sssessments and providing assistance as needed.
Assisting with accident/incident investigation reports.
Submitting weekly reports.
Conducting daily site walks and promptly reporting findings to project supervisors.

Qualifications

We are searching for a Quality Manager to join our client's growing team on a site in Shepherds Bush. This is a permanent position will require travel across London and greater UK areas (following completion of the Shepherds Bush project c.2025).

As an Electrical Quality Manager, reporting to the HSEQ Director, you will promote the core value of Quality across all current and future projects. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of construction on electrical projects including QA/QC, Inspection & Testing and system handover

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Follow and promote the core values of Quality throughout all projects.

2. Implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management ISO 9001:2015.

3. Understand and relay the quality requirements from the client to the project management teams.

4. Preparation of project specific QA Plans.

5. Manage benchmarks to the standards of the project contract prior and during project delivery.

6. Consistently address all quality related issues to improve client relationships.

7. Review project documents, design drawings and specifications to maintain familiarity and ensure project teams have a full understanding of the requirements of all real & relevant documents,

8. Document findings and follow up actions in detailed audit reports,

9. Promoting LEAN construction processes & tools, best practice and sharing lessons learned across all projects,

10. Resolve all quality matters from the project management and project supervisor levels,

11. Good document practice and technical reviews to ensure project deliverable requirements are being achieved,

12. Collating all quality records and coordinate handover to the client on time,

13. Provision of continuous QMS Training and Support,

14. Ability to work independently and carry out QMS Audits and follow up reports on projects,

15. Maintenance & upkeep of detailed records using Microsoft Word and BIM 360 Field Software

16. All other duties associated with this role/Quality Items.

Essential Criteria

1. At least 3 years within a quality-based role.

2. Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, regulations, and codes.

3. Working knowledge of electrical components and systems.

4. Knowledge of regulatory standards e.g. BS7671, ET101, EN IS (phone number removed):2013.

5. Ability to carry out QA Audits and follow-up reports on Projects

6. Excellent Microsoft Office and communication skills

7. Previous experience of quality Management Systems e.g. ISO 9001

8. Data Centre/Pharma experience/knowledge desirable but not essential.

9. Ability to understand & interpret Project Specifications, Drawings, SLD’s, Cable Solutions and Data Sheets.
