We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support the wider sales team. In the role you'll be a technical subject matter expert and work will include producing cost estimates and quotations. You will work with clients and in particular will build relationships with with customer’s technical specifiers and project managers.

The company manufactures telecom cabinets and data racks for a diverse client base of infrastructure operators, system integrators and global OEMs across markets such as rail, defence, energy and telecoms.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with customer technical enquiries
  • Produce technical and commercial proposals.
  • Be a secondary point of contact (after the salesperson) for existing and prospective customers to provide fast and efficient responses.
  • Independently manage cost estimation and create quotation documents in line with the company's standards in a timely fashion, validated technically specifications
  • Ensure all orders that result from a quotation conform in all aspects to the terms offered before processing / entering the order on to the system.
  • Follow up selected quotations in conjunction with the salesperson and record feedback on the enquiry log system (CRM).
  • In conjunction with a salesperson, visit customers’ premises if required.

We're looking for:

  • An individual with a ‘self-starter’ attitude, a curious nature - eager to learn, and good attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of handling customers in a business-to-business environment.
  • HNC or degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar). An engineer who understands the modern methods of CNC fabrication and manufacture.
  • Someone who is competent with Microsoft work packages including; Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint. Experience with CRM and CAD systems would beneficial.
