About the job.
As an Electrical Control Panel Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and overseeing the production of electrical control panels to meet project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be experienced in AutoCAD and, preferably, have knowledge of EPLAN software.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD.
- Utilize EPLAN software to enhance design efficiency (experience desirable but not essential).
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including UK standards (BS EN), UL, and IEC where applicable.
- Generate detailed BOMs (Bills of Materials) and assembly drawings.
- Provide technical support to production teams during the panel assembly process.
- Perform quality checks and assist in troubleshooting design-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and revision control for all design projects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical control panel design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is essential; EPLAN experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience
